Evelyn Wanjiru expecting first child after 10 years of waiting

Gospel singer Evelyn Wanjiru and her husband, Agundabweni Akweyu are expecting their first child.

The couple who have been married for a decade announced on social media yesterday 12/04/2022 that they are finally going to be parents. The long caption was posted alongside a photo showcasing Evelyn’s growing baby bump.

She wrote, “Today, my heart is full of joy and gratitude. As I write this, my eyes are full of tears. I have been waiting for this season for 10 years in my marriage. A blessed womb, God Has fulfilled His promise in our lives”.

The musician rejoiced, breaking into a thanksgiving song titled ‘Asante,’ in which she celebrates the end of a 10-year wait for a child.

“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him,” the singer wrote, quoting a verse from 1 Samuel.

Her celebratory message included a prayer for other couples who had nearly given up on trying to start a family.

Wanjiru revealed her baby shower in the music video, which debuted yesterday, in which she was surrounded by her friends.
