Former Us President Barack Obama tweeted yesterday (13-03-2022) that he had tested positive for covid 19, but the rest of his family were fine.
“I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise,” he said, “Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative.”
“It’s a good reminder that, even as cases go down, you should get vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already to help prevent more serious symptoms and giving COVID to others.”
Nearly 965,000 Americans have died since the pandemic began in 2020, and nearly 80 million infections have been reported in the U.S. alone, the CDC reports.
This comes days after the mask mandate was lifted in Kenya by health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
Kenya has reported 323,140 cases of COVID-19 and 5,644 deaths but inoculation rates remain low, with only 28.5 per cent of the adult population fully vaccinated as of March 10, 2022.
