Gucci X Adidas Set to Launch Non-Waterproof Umbrellas Worth $1300(Ksh. 151,385) Each

Adidas and Gucci have linked up to produce a new edition of colorful umbrellas to be sold in China. The umbrellas reportedly cost a whopping $1300(151,385 Ksh.) and are not waterproof! Instead, it is only meant for sun protection. The umbrella features a carved birch-wood handle, green-red web and a G-shaped handle.

“Please note, this item is not waterproof and is meant for sun protection or decorative use,” Gucci says, ahead of the official launch of the umbrellas on June 7.

China is one of the world’s key markets for luxury brands and is predicted to be the world’s biggest luxury goods market in the next 3 years. Last year, the world’s 2nd largest economy saw a 36% increase on the sale of luxury goods, according to Bain and Company.
