Radio Jangwani 106.3fm is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Marsabit registered as Diocese of Marsabit registered trustees, which has transformed lives through radio programs by evangelizing, informing, educating, and entertaining since 2016.

We’re seeking a multi-talented individual to join our team as a News Reporter!

Position: News Reporter

Experience: Minimum 3 years in journalism

Qualifications: Bachelors/Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies

Key Responsibilities:

1. News Anchoring: Deliver breaking news updates with authority and clarity, keeping listeners informed and engaged.
2. Translation: Ability to translate English scripts to Swahili, ensuring our content reaches diverse audiences.
3. Camera Work and design: Capture visual elements to enhance our radio broadcasts, adding depth and context to our stories.
4. Engagement: Communicate knowledgeably and engagingly with our audience, fostering a strong connection and building trust.
5. Legal and Current Affairs Knowledge: Stay updated with media law and current affairs to ensure accurate and responsible reporting.
6. Continuity Programming: Craft compelling segments to keep our audience engaged throughout the day.

Skills and Attributes:

1. Comprehensive understanding of Catholic principles and teachings, ensuring insightful coverage and analysis of Catholic-related topics.
2. Strong journalistic instincts and integrity.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
5. Proficiency in Swahili and English language preferred.
6. Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic media environment.
