Usher will be performing at the Allegiant Stadium, on Sunday 11th February 2024 at the halftime Superbowl show.
The 45-year-old rapper will play, during the clash between The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, and teased what fans can expect from his high-energy set during a press conference hosted by Apple Music in Sin City on Thursday, February 8th, 2024.
Usher himself has previously appeared on the Super Bowl stage. As a special guest with the Black-Eyed Peas, in 2011, he performed a breathtaking leap over Will. i.am, landing in the splits.
He follows Rihanna, who performed the 2023 half-time show while pregnant, and 2022’s all-star team of Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
The Super Bowl is always the most-watched program on US television and the half-time show regularly pulls in more viewers than the match itself. The platform is so big that many performers, including Rihanna, play for no fee.
Last year, over 118 million people watched the performance headlined by Rihanna.
This performance marks a significant moment for Usher, fulfilling a childhood dream. He is not just headlining but also becoming the first R&B artiste to solely lead the Super Bowl halftime show in over 20 years.
Apple Music released a video of what people should expect at the event below.
