‘TWENDE’ The New Showmax animation series making headlines.
Showmax premiered a new original Kenyan animation series on December 1st, dubbed Twende. Twende is the first 2D animated series and has so far five episodes available.
Twende’s pilot screened back in 2021 during the Anncet which is the world’s premier animation festival.
Kenyan actor Junior Nyong’o lends his voice to the supposed character, Twende who is a boda-boda riding pangolin who believes that life is about the journey and not the destination. Twende ferries residents of the busy, fictional East African city of Milima from one point to the next, working with his best friend and navigator Nuru (voiced by June Gachui).
