Forest Road Sexual Assault suspect arrested after dodging the police for a week

Zachariah Nyaora Obadia the country’s most wanted suspect who has been on the run for sexual assault has been arrested.

Obadia, who is alleged to have masterminded the ghastly sexual attack on a woman along Wangari Maathai road, formerly Forest Road was arrested on Monday afternoon at the Kenya-Tanzania border in Isebania, Migori County.

 

Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI detectives from the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau pounced on him as he tried to cross the border to Tanzania through an illegal route.

 

The suspect who has been on the run had escaped the police dragnet last week in Mukuru Kaiyaba, Nairobi County through a sewer duct.

Using digital forensics, cybercrime experts at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, had earlier placed Obadia at the scene of the crime scientifically, before launching a manhunt for him.

 

The suspect was airlifted to Nairobi where he will be grilled before being presented before the court on Tuesday morning.
