Sagante Jaldesa youth form interim leadership to oversee youth affairs

Youth from Sagante Jaldesa ward in Marsabit County have announced the formation of an interim leadership team to oversee youth affairs in the area, saying the move follows complaints over an existing leadership structure they argue lacks proper endorsement.

Speaking to journalists in Marsabit town on Sunday, the group’s secretary general, Adan Fugicha, said more than 1,200 signatures had been collected from youth strongly opposing the rival leadership, which he claimed had not been sanctioned by the youth themselves.

Fugicha added that the move is aimed at strengthening youth leadership in the area, stressing that the main goal is to establish a formal representation structure and provide clear direction in addressing the challenges facing young people in Sagante Jaldesa.

The youth said the interim leadership will serve as a unifying platform, ensuring their concerns reach the relevant authorities through clear and transparent representation.
