Police arrest suspect, recover AK-47 rifle in Isiolo

Police in Isiolo County have arrested a suspect and recovered an AK-47 rifle believed to have been illegally possessed following a tip-off from members of the public.

The firearm was recovered on Wednesday by officers from Oldonyiro Police Station in Lenguruma Village, Lenguruma Sub-Location, after residents alerted authorities to the suspected possession of an illegal weapon.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue ahead of being arraigned in court to face appropriate charges.

The National Police Service has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies, noting that timely information from the public plays a crucial role in crime prevention and enhancing community safety.
