Marsabit residents commend judiciary for public participation on budget plans

Residents of Marsabit County have praised the Judiciary for organizing a public participation forum to engage citizens in discussions on its budget.

Speaking after the event held in Marsabit town on Thursday, the residents said the forum had helped them gain a better understanding of how the Judiciary carries out its mandate and delivers services to the public.

They noted that the engagement provided an opportunity for citizens to learn more about the operations of the Judiciary and its role in the administration of justice.

Meanwhile, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Marsabit branch representative, John Behailu, called on Members of Parliament to ensure the Judiciary receives adequate funding to effectively discharge its responsibilities.

Behailu said sufficient budgetary allocation would enable the Judiciary to strengthen service delivery and improve access to justice for citizens.
