Rift emerges in Sagante Jaldesa youth leadership

A rift has emerged within the youth leadership of Sagante Jaldesa sub-county, after factions aligned with Alkano Doyo and Guyo Qancharo clashed over the legitimacy of the leadership of their joint youth association.

The dispute comes days after the faction led by Alkano Doyo claimed to have collected 1,200 signatures from young people, paving the way for elections of new leaders held on Sunday.

During the elections, Doyo’s faction accused Qancharo’s side of failing to address challenges facing the youth, as well as failing to formalise the association.

However, Qancharo’s faction has since rejected the process, distancing itself from Sunday’s elections. The group accused Doyo’s side of self-interest and favouritism in the allocation of employment opportunities for youth.

The faction further alleged corruption within the association, claiming it was being used by certain politicians for their own personal gain.
