8,460 litres of Kangara seized in Marsabit crackdown on illicit brew

Security officers in Marsabit County have seized a staggering 8,460 litres of kangara, a local illicit brew, along with 60 litres of other illicit liquor.

The seizure underscores the scale of the illegal alcohol trade the county is grappling with, even as the crackdown continues to gather pace across various parts of the region.

Speaking to journalists, Marsabit County Commissioner Stanley Kamande said the government would continue taking firm action against individuals involved in the illicit alcohol trade.

Kamande further urged residents to work closely with security agencies by volunteering confidential information on people involved in the manufacture of illicit brews.
