Police investigate death of 60-year-old man following assault in Hulahula
Police in Marsabit are investigating the death of a 60-year-old man who died after allegedly being assaulted in Hulahula village, Marsabit Central Sub-County.
According to Marsabit Central OCPD Beethoven Gachago, the deceased, Kulimicha Okuro, and the suspect, Etamboin Dokhe, were chewing miraa together at a house in Hulahula village on the night of last Thursday when a disagreement broke out between them, leading to a physical confrontation.
Friends who were present at the house intervened and managed to calm the situation before the two men went their separate ways.
However, the condition of the deceased later deteriorated, and he died while being rushed to Marsabit County Referral Hospital for treatment.
A post-mortem examination conducted in Isiolo County established that Okuro died from injuries sustained to his ribs, which subsequently affected his lungs.
Police said efforts to trace and arrest the suspect are ongoing as investigations continue.
