Malabot residents raise concerns over poor learning conditions for school children, demand answers on NG-CDF funds

Residents of Malabot Sub-location in North Horr Constituency, Marsabit County, are raising concerns over the deteriorating condition of classrooms in local schools, questioning how development funds allocated for education infrastructure is utilized.

According to information shared with Radio Jangwani, some classrooms in the area reportedly lack doors, have broken windows, damaged floors, and do not have access to electricity. Residents say the poor learning environment is negatively affecting learners, who are forced to study under difficult conditions.

They argue that the situation raises concerns about the future of children in the area and the quality of education they are receiving.

One resident who also contacted the station expressed frustration, claiming that despite the existence of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), several school facilities remain in a state of disrepair.

The resident called on North Horr Member of Parliament Wario Guyo to explain the status of NG-CDF allocations intended for education infrastructure and to outline any plans to improve learning conditions in the affected schools.

Radio Jangwani was unable to independently verify all the claims at the time of publication. Efforts to obtain a response from the North Horr NG-CDF office, local education officials, and the area Member of Parliament are ongoing.
