Marsabit man dies after elephant attack in Samburu County

A middle-aged man from Korr Sub-County, Marsabit County, has died after being attacked by an elephant in the Ipus-Orokwe area of Sereolipi, Samburu County.
Confirming the incident, which occurred over the weekend, Assistant Director for the Northern Conservation Area, Bakari Chongwa said the deceased’s body had been taken to Laisamis Mortuary pending further examination.
Chongwa has urged residents to exercise caution during the rainy season by avoiding areas near wildlife reserves. He also encouraged the public to promptly report any cases of human-wildlife conflict to their nearest KWS office.
