Marsabit Governor urges President William Ruto to fast-track power connection from Lake Turkana Wind Power

Marsabit Governor Mohamed Mohamud Ali has urged President William Ruto to fast-track the connection of electricity generated by the Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) project to residents of Marsabit County.

Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony for Principal Secretary in the State Department for Devolution Lenasalon Loikenu in South Horr, Samburu County, Governor Ali commended President Ruto for what he described as efforts to improve the livelihoods of pastoralist communities.

Governor Ali also assured the President of continued support from pastoralist communities ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Meanwhile, Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda has called on President Ruto to strengthen security operations in Samburu and facilitate the return of families displaced by banditry.

Lesuuda acknowledged that the security situation has improved since the President’s previous visit to Baragoi, but said more needs to be done to protect residents and restore displaced families to their homes.
