MARSABIT YOUTH URGED TO EMBRACE DIALOGUE TO MAINTAIN PEACE

Marsabit County Commissioner Stanley Kamande has urged young people in the county to use dialogue instead of violence when expressing their grievances.

Speaking after a ceremony to mark World Peace Day in Moyale, Kamande said violence causes losses and negatively affects the county’s economy. He also credited cooperation among peace stakeholders for the improved peace and security situation in Marsabit.

Meanwhile, Adan Chukulisa, Deputy Chairman of the Marsabit County Peace Committee, urged young people to stay away from politicians who allegedly use them to cause violence during political meetings.

Chukulisa also called on residents to elect leaders who focus on development and avoid politics that fuel violence and social divisions.
