Marsabit traders take precautionary measures ahead of El Niño rains predictions

Traders in Marsabit Town have begun implementing precautionary measures to safeguard their businesses against the anticipated El Niño rains expected in various parts of Marsabit County.

Speaking to Radio Jangwani, the traders said heavy rains have previously disrupted business activities, damaged property and reduced customer numbers, leading them to prepare in advance to minimize possible losses.

One of the traders said he has constructed a protective wall in front of his business premises to prevent floodwaters from entering the shop.

He noted that the measure will help protect her goods from damage once the expected El Niño rains begin.
