Marsabit teachers urged to prepare students for national examinations

Marsabit County Director of Education William Kamuguna has urged head teachers and school principals across the county to ensure that candidates sitting national examinations this year are adequately prepared.

Kamuguna said thorough preparation would be key to helping learners perform well in the upcoming examinations.

Speaking to the media at his office on Tuesday, the county education director commended teachers for their role in maintaining peace and stability in schools, saying a calm learning environment was essential for academic success.

Meanwhile, Kamuguna said the education department had put in place measures to mitigate the effects of the expected El Niño rains, particularly in schools located in flood-prone areas.

He said the department was working closely with the Meteorological Department, which had issued an early warning on the anticipated rains.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations are scheduled to begin on October 19, while the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) for Grade 9 and 10 learners is expected to start on October 26.

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for Grade 6 learners is also expected to take place during the same examination period.
