Marsabit steps up preparations for expected El Niño rains
Marsabit Municipality has stepped up preparations to mitigate the expected effects of El Niño rains forecast for next month.
Marsabit municipal Manager Boru Golicha told Radio Jangwani that the municipality has begun clearing waste from blocked drainage systems and stormwater channels across the town to improve water flow and reduce the risk of flooding during the rainy season.
Golicha has also urged residents to avoid dumping waste in streets and drainage channels, saying proper waste disposal is critical to keeping the town clean and preventing blockages that could worsen flooding.
