Man killed by rock hurled from mining blast in Moyale
A 30-year-old man has died after a rock hurled by a blast at a mining site struck him on the head in Moyale, Marsabit County.
The incident occurred in the Nasole area of Dabel, within Moyale Sub-County, early this week.
Police identified the deceased as Hassan Guyo.
According to police, Guyo was asleep inside his house, which was made of nylon sheets, at around 7:30am when the blast occurred at a mining site approximately 200 metres from his home.
The explosion reportedly sent a rock flying towards the house, striking Guyo on the head and causing severe injuries. He died at the scene.
Police said they have identified a suspect in connection with the incident, although no arrest had been made by the time of reporting.
Officers visited the scene as investigations into the incident continued.
