Inua Jamii beneficiary verification continues in Marsabit
By Caroline Waforo
A verification exercise for beneficiaries of the government’s Inua Jamii programme is under way in Marsabit County, as Social Services officials work to confirm that registered recipients are still alive and remain eligible for continued support.
Speaking to Radio Jangwani, Marsabit County Social Services Coordinator Vincent Musee said the exercise will end on October 30 and targets mainly the elderly and persons living with disabilities.
Mr. Musee said the verification is part of the government’s wider effort to clean up the Inua Jamii register and ensure that public funds reach only genuine beneficiaries.
He said Social Services officers will visit every sub-county, including Korr, Illeret and Uran, to reach beneficiaries in their own areas.
Beneficiaries have been urged to turn up at the designated centres carrying their valid national identity cards.
