A total of 423 residents have been screened for various eye conditions through community outreach activities conducted under the Marsabit Low Vision Empowerment (MLOVE) Project in Marsabit County.

The screenings were carried out in the areas of Ilpus, Bubisa and Turbi, bringing eye care services closer to local communities.

According to information from the project, the screenings helped identify cases of cataracts, refractive errors, suspected glaucoma and other low vision conditions among community members.

The outreach activities are part of ongoing efforts to improve access to eye care services in Marsabit County, where many residents face challenges accessing specialized medical care.

The Marsabit Low Vision Empowerment (MLOVE) Project is being implemented by Caritas Marsabit in partnership with CBM Global Disability Inclusion, CBM Christoffel Blindenmission Schweiz, and the Marsabit County Department of Health, including the Eye Unit.

The partners say the initiative seeks to address barriers to eye care and support people living with visual impairments across the county.
