12,000 litres of Kangara seized in Jirime, Marsabit

Security officers have seized approximately 12,000 litres of kangara in Jirime, Marsabit Central, following information about underground pits where the illicit brew was being prepared.

Area Chief Enock Kalo said he received information from local residents and alerted security officers, who launched an operation led by Marsabit Central OCPD Beethoven Gachago in collaboration with the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) Marsabit Coordinator, Mohamed Waqo.

However, suspects believed to be involved in the production or storage of the alcohol fled before security officers could arrest them.
