Security agencies step up patrols in Moyale amid Ethiopia conflict

By Caroline Waforo

Security agencies, led by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), have intensified patrols in Moyale Constituency, Marsabit County, following heightened tensions along the Kenya-Ethiopia border amid ongoing violence in Ethiopia.

Speaking at Odha Missionary School, which is hosting some of the people who have fled the violence, Marsabit County Commissioner Stanley Kamande assured Moyale residents that security agencies were taking measures to safeguard them.

Kamande also warned residents against spreading propaganda and unverified information on social media, urging them to promote peace and avoid statements that could escalate tensions.

The remarks come as Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali calls on security agencies to strengthen security in areas affected by the rising tensions.
