Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali has called for peace and tolerance among residents as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election, saying peace is essential for development.

Speaking on Tuesday during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Moyale town, Governor Ali commended residents for maintaining peace and fostering good relations with their neighbours across the border in Ethiopia.

The governor also pledged to address land ownership issues in Moyale Constituency.

On water supply, Ali said Moyale residents are expected to begin benefiting from improved water services starting November this year.

He added that the county government plans to begin the process of identifying a contractor to oversee water distribution across various parts of the town. However, he did not disclose the cost of the project.
