By CAROLINE WAFORO

Archbishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nyeri, Anthony Muheria, has urged motorists across the country to observe traffic rules and exercise caution on the roads to help prevent accidents and reduce road deaths.

His remarks follow the death of 17 pilgrims from St. Matthias Mulumba Parish in Mikindani, Mombasa County, who were travelling to Subukia for the National Prayer Day when they were involved in a road accident in Salama, Makueni County.

Archbishop Muheria has also called on traffic officers to carry out their duties with integrity and avoid corruption. He urged authorities to take firm action against motorists who violate traffic laws.

The Archbishop has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, parishioners of St. Matthias Mulumba Parish and all those affected by the tragedy.

He has prayed for the deceased to rest in peace and for strength and comfort for the bereaved families and others affected by the tragedy.
